There can be some rainy or windy days, but periods of sunshine are frequent. For visitors who prefer to avoid the summer heat and crowds, February can be a pleasant time to explore the area and enjoy its beaches, restaurants and outdoor spaces.

March

March marks the beginning of spring. Temperatures start to rise, with many days reaching around 19–21°C.

The longer days make it easier to enjoy outdoor activities, and the countryside around the Costa Blanca becomes greener after the winter months. It is a good time for walking, cycling, hiking and discovering places away from the main tourist areas.

April

April is usually warm and comfortable, with daytime temperatures often around 21–23°C. The evenings are still cooler, but the difference between winter and summer is becoming clear.

This is a good month for exploring the coastline, spending time outdoors and enjoying the beaches before the main summer season begins. The Mediterranean Sea can still be cool, but sunny days can already feel very much like summer.

May

May is one of the most comfortable months of the year. Temperatures often reach around 24–26°C during the day, while evenings remain pleasant.

The days are long, the weather is generally warm and there is not yet the intense heat of July and August. May is particularly good for beach days, boat trips, walking, cycling and other outdoor activities.

June

By June, summer has arrived. Daytime temperatures commonly reach around 27–30°C, and the evenings are warm enough to spend long hours outside.

The Mediterranean is becoming warmer and swimming becomes a regular part of life along the coast. Mornings and evenings are particularly enjoyable for walking, exercise and outdoor activities, while the middle of the day can be hot.

July

July is one of the hottest and driest months on the Costa Blanca. Daytime temperatures are often around 30°C or higher, with warm evenings and very little rainfall.

The Mediterranean is warm, beaches are busy and outdoor life continues well into the evening. During the hottest part of the day, many people prefer to stay near the sea, take a longer lunch or simply enjoy some shade before heading outside again later.

August

August is usually the hottest month of the year. Temperatures around 30–32°C are common, although hotter days can occur.

The sea is at its warmest, making this a popular month for swimming, boat trips and water activities. Because of the heat, early mornings and evenings are often the most comfortable times for walking and exercise.

September

September is one of the most attractive months on the Costa Blanca. Summer temperatures remain, but the strongest heat of August begins to ease. Daytime temperatures are often around 27–30°C, and the Mediterranean remains warm.

The beaches are generally quieter than during the peak summer weeks, while restaurants, outdoor activities and local events continue. September is an excellent time for swimming, boat trips, walking and enjoying everyday life along the coast.

October

October brings a gradual change towards autumn, although warm weather can continue for much of the month. Daytime temperatures are often around 24–26°C.

The sea can still be warm enough for swimming, particularly earlier in the month. October is also a comfortable time for exploring the Costa Blanca, walking, cycling and visiting places that can feel too hot during the middle of summer.

November

November is a mild autumn month, with daytime temperatures often around 20–22°C. Nights become cooler and there is a greater chance of rain compared with the summer months.

However, sunny days are still common. It is a good time to enjoy the quieter side of the Costa Blanca, visit local towns and spend time outdoors without the summer heat.

December

December brings the beginning of winter, but the climate remains relatively mild. Daytime temperatures are generally around 17–19°C, while evenings can be cool.

There are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy sunny days outdoors, including walks along the coast, outdoor cafés and exploring the local area. A warmer jacket is useful for evenings and cooler days.

Costa Blanca Weather Throughout the Year

The Costa Blanca does not have the same weather every day, but its Mediterranean climate means that outdoor life is possible for much of the year.

The hottest months are July and August, while May, June, September and October offer warm temperatures without the strongest summer heat. Winter is cooler, but daytime temperatures can still be pleasant, especially when the sun is out.

For a holiday focused on beaches and swimming, the summer and early autumn months are the most suitable. For walking, cycling, sightseeing and exploring the area, spring and autumn offer comfortable conditions.
