Every September, Cartagena goes back in time.

For ten days, the city becomes the setting for Carthagineses y Romanos, a spectacular historical festival celebrating the story of Carthage and Rome and the Second Punic War.

There are historical re-enactments, parades, ceremonies, battles, music and plenty of activities for visitors of all ages.

18 September – Opening Day

Followed by the Grand Carthaginian Parade through the city.

21:00 – Sagunto: The Oath of Rome

21 September

21:00 – Wedding of Hannibal and Himilce

Followed by celebrations at the Festival Camp.

22 September

20:30 – Oracle of the Goddess Tanit

23 September

21:00 – Grand Circus Maximus

22:30 – Feriae Latinae

25 September – The Main Day

10:45 – Naval Battle

17:00 – Roman Landing
