A Day at Cabo Roig

Cabo Roig is one of those places where you can easily spend a whole day without needing a plan.

There is a beach, a marina, a coastal walk, places to eat, a weekly market and plenty of opportunities to get out on the water.

So if you are staying in Orihuela Costa, why not make a day of it?

Start at the Beach

Begin your day at Cala Capitán, one of the two main beaches around Cabo Roig.

Spend some time by the sea, go for a swim or simply enjoy the morning before heading along the coast.

If you prefer a quieter beach atmosphere, you can also continue towards La Caleta, on the other side of Cabo Roig.

Walk Along the Coast

One of the highlights of Cabo Roig is the coastal walk around the headland.

The Sendero Azul follows the coastline between Cala Capitán and La Caleta, with beautiful views of the Mediterranean, rocky cliffs and small coves along the way.

It is an easy walk, so there is no need to rush.

Take your time, stop for photos and enjoy the views.

Discover the Marina

As you walk around Cabo Roig, you will reach the marina below the headland.

It is a great place to stop and watch the boats coming and going, have a coffee or enjoy lunch by the water.

The marina is also the starting point for boat trips, making it possible to see this part of the coast from a completely different perspective.

See Cabo Roig from the Sea

If you have more time, why not take a boat trip?

From the marina, you can head out along the coast, discover small coves and enjoy the Mediterranean from the water.

You can make it a short sailing trip, spend time swimming from the boat or simply enjoy a few hours at sea.

And if you are lucky, you may even see dolphins along the way.

Visit the Local Market

If you are in Cabo Roig on a Thursday, there is another reason to visit.

The local market takes place on Thursday mornings, usually from around 09:00 to 14:00.

You can browse stalls selling fruit and vegetables, olives, clothes, accessories and other everyday products.

It is not a huge market, but that is part of its charm — it is easy to walk around and combine with the rest of your day in Cabo Roig.

Stop at a Chiringuito

After a walk or a swim, find a place by the sea to sit down and enjoy something to eat or drink.

Cabo Roig has Chiringuitos del Sol at both Cala Capitán and La Caleta, so there is a good chance of finding a beach bar close to wherever you are exploring.

Finish with Sunset

Cabo Roig is also a great place to stay until the end of the day.

As the sun gets lower, head back towards the coast, find a good viewpoint and watch the light change over the Mediterranean.

It is a simple way to finish a day by the sea.

Make a Day of It

The best thing about Cabo Roig is that you do not have to choose just one activity.

You can spend the morning on the beach, walk along the coast, explore the marina, have lunch by the sea, take a boat trip or visit the market — and still have time to slow down and enjoy the views.

That is what makes Cabo Roig such a good place to discover while staying in Orihuela Costa.
